Current Work

FALL 2022:

1. Phase 1 of repairs and restoration of an 1880 Pomplitz Tracker Organ, Opus 220. This instrument suffered various indignities during its last move. In this phase we are repairing all broken pipes, replacing missing ones, and resetting and adjusting the action that has not been coupling or working for decades. Additionally, we are addressing all questions needing answers for the final Phase 2 as well as mending what we can with racking, winding failures such as the regulator problems with poorly construed wind-lines, and chest leathers. The original reservoir was removed with only one regulator used as a replacement that was never correctly adjusted and installed resulting in a significant wind loss even when playing a chord with just one stop drawn! This work is expected to be completed by the middle of November 2022.

2. Reconstruction of one Medieval Portative Organ and one Renaissance Portative Organ. We are using European Beech, Alder, and Pine that has seasoned in our shop for over a year. This work is expected to continue through the Winter of 2022-2023. We are excited to unlock mysteries of these mostly forgotten instruments and with the new insights create our own line of Portative Organs.

*We currently have slots available for Christmas 2022 Tunings from Mid-November through Christmas Eve - please call to schedule one!*
